Deep Tissue Massage

Focused attention.
On your terms.

Choose Deep Tissue for slower, sustained pressure and a more deliberate approach to selected areas. Firmness is a preference to discuss, never a reason to push through pain.

Understand the experience

The technique, in three parts.

01

Time in selected areas

The therapist spends longer with specific areas instead of moving quickly through a full-body sequence.

02

Sustained pressure

Hands or forearms apply measured contact. The useful pressure level is the one you can comfortably accept.

03

Ongoing feedback

Tell the therapist about discomfort immediately. The session should adapt to you rather than follow an intensity target.

What it feels like

The pace is slower and the contact more concentrated. Expect pauses and deliberate work rather than an uninterrupted sweep from one area to the next.

From arrival to unwind

Your session, step by step.

  1. 01

    Describe the focus

Explain your preferences and any areas you want avoided. Do not use massage as a substitute for assessing an injury.

  2. 02

    Start within comfort

Allow the therapist to establish a tolerable level before deeper contact.

  3. 03

    Keep communicating

Ask for changes as the therapist spends more time on selected areas.

  4. 04

    Finish gently

Take time before standing and ask the team any practical after-session questions.

This may suit you

Choose by preference.

You already know you enjoy firmer massage and want to discuss focused attention on particular areas.

Another direction

Keep the choice open.

If you dislike intensity or simply want to switch off, Swedish or Lomi Lomi may be a better starting point.

A little more clarity

Your questions, answered.

Should Deep Tissue hurt?

You do not need to endure pain. Tell the therapist immediately if contact feels painful, sharp or uncomfortable and ask them to reduce or stop it.

Is stronger always better?

No. Choose pressure according to comfort and preference. A gentler session can be the better experience for you.

Can I book it for an injury?

The website cannot assess an injury. Seek appropriate professional advice first and tell the spa team about any restrictions.
